CAM Design Build

Original thinking for exceptional homes.

Design-build remodeling, additions, and structural transformations for architecturally considered homes across the Pacific Northwest.

CAM brings engineering clarity, custom craft, and a calm design-build process to homes that ask for more than a standard remodel.

Founded by Cameron Zettel after work in engineering and custom carpentry, the studio is built for complex residential projects where structure, sequencing, and finish detail all matter.

The CAM Approach

Thoughtful residential work begins before the first wall opens.

Intelligent Transformation

Difficult spaces are studied before they are styled, with planning that clarifies structure, circulation, light, and long-term use.

Practical Engineering

Cameron Zettel's engineering background shapes a calm, rigorous process for scope, code, sequencing, and buildable design decisions.

Enduring Craft

The studio began with custom carpentry and furniture, and that material intelligence still informs the details that carry a home over decades.

Services

A restrained scope of serious work.

CAM supports owners through planning, construction management, site leadership, and the trade coordination required for substantial residential projects.

Whole Home Remodeling

Comprehensive residential transformations where structure, finish, and sequencing need to move together.

Architectural Additions

New volume and square footage designed to feel resolved, proportionate, and deeply connected to the original home.

Interior Reconfiguration

Measured interventions that improve flow, daylight, utility, and the way rooms relate to one another.

Custom Kitchens

Kitchen projects led by proportion, craft, durable materials, and the practical realities of daily use.

Design-Build Collaboration

A single coordinated path from early planning through construction for owners who value clarity.

New Construction

Custom residential building shaped by practical engineering, site knowledge, and architectural restraint.

Basement Transformations

Lower-level spaces reconsidered for better use, comfort, structure, and connection to the home above.

Founder

An engineer’s mind, a craftsperson’s eye.

Cameron Zettel began his career as an engineer, with a degree in Applied Physics and experience on large-scale infrastructure including the Hood Canal Bridge.

In 2009, he started building custom carpentry and furniture pieces. That hands-on origin still shapes CAM’s approach to remodels, additions, and custom homes: practical, exacting, and deeply aware of how things are actually built.
